Bolivia APCA Organic

The Asociación de Productores de Café de Apolo (APCA) brings together smallholder producers from communities throughout the municipality of Apolo. Coffee serves as an important source of household income, and the cooperative provides producers with technical training, quality improvement programs, and access to specialty markets that would be difficult to reach independently. In recent years, APCA has partnered with conservation organizations and local institutions to strengthen harvesting practices, improve wet-processing infrastructure, and invest in equipment that allows producers to consistently produce higher-quality coffees.
Many member farms are located within the buffer zone of Madidi National Park, an internationally recognized biodiversity hotspot that protects ecosystems ranging from Andean cloud forest to Amazonian lowlands. Coffee is grown beneath diverse shade canopies that help maintain wildlife habitat while supporting healthy soils and resilient farming systems. Conservation and coffee production are closely linked, with producers recognizing that healthy forests are essential to the long-term sustainability of their farms.
